Cookies Policy

1. What are cookies?

The cookie is a small file, consisting of letters and numbers, which will be stored on the computer, mobile terminal or other equipment of a user accessing the Internet.

The cookie is installed by a request issued by a web-server to a browser (eg Internet Explorer, Chrome) and is completely “passive” (it does not contain software, viruses or spyware and cannot access the information on the user’s hard drive).

2. Cookies have two categories

  • Session cookies – these are temporarily stored in the cookie file of the web browser so that it stores them until the user exits the respective web-site or closes the browser window (eg when logging in / logging in to an account webmail or social media).
  • Persistent cookies – these are stored on the hard drive of a computer or device (and generally depends on the default cookie lifetime).

Persistent cookies include those placed by a website other than the one the user visits at that time – known as ‘third party cookies’ – which can be used anonymously to memorize the interests of a user so that advertising is delivered as relevant to users.

They remain on the user’s terminal for a period defined by the cookie parameters or until they are manually deleted by the user.

3. The role of cookies

These files make it possible to recognize the user’s terminal and present the content in a relevant way, adapted to the user’s preferences.

Cookies provide users with a pleasant browsing experience and support SC Omubo Design SRL’s efforts to provide comfortable services to users.

They are also used in the preparation of aggregated anonymous statistics that help us understand how a user benefits from our web pages, allowing us to improve their structure and content, excluding the user’s personal identification.

4. The role of cookies in our company

  • Site performance cookies
  • Visitor analysis cookies
  • Cookies for geotargetting
  • Registration cookies
  • Cookies for advertising
  • Cookies of advertising providers
  • These cookies may come from the following third parties: Google Analytics

5. The cookie and personal data

Cookies themselves do not require personal information to be used and, in most cases, do not personally identify Internet users.

Personal data collected through the use of cookies can only be collected to facilitate certain functionalities for the user. Such data is encrypted in a way that makes it impossible for unauthorized persons to access it.

Cookies keep information in a small text file that allows a website to recognize a browser. The web server will recognize the browser until the cookie expires or is deleted.

The cookie stores important information that improves the Internet browsing experience (eg the language settings in which you want to access a website; keeping a user logged in to your webmail account; online banking security; keeping products in the shopping cart).

6. Deleting cookies

In general, an application used to access web pages allows the cookies to be saved on the terminal by default. These settings can be changed so that the automatic administration of cookies is blocked by the web browser or the user is informed whenever cookies are sent to his terminal.

Detailed information about the possibilities and ways of managing cookies can be found in the application settings area (web browser). Limiting the use of cookies can affect certain functionalities of the web page.
